Artsy: all the art to see during Armory Week

Casey Lesser's guide to a New York season that now spreads across the whole month rather than one week. The Armory Show, 24 to 27 September at the Javits Center, with around 230 exhibitors and a section on Caribbean diaspora artists. Independent 20th Century, same dates, moving into the Breuer building on the Upper East Side with 57 exhibitors of less-known artists and work. Taryn Simon's photography survey at the Guggenheim, Arthur Jafa's first US retrospective at the New Museum, and openings across Chelsea, Tribeca and Brooklyn.

What I take from it. Tribeca is where three of my paintings live now, in one apartment. If you're walking the galleries there this month and you want to see the work in a room instead of a booth, the photographs are on On the wall, and the studio is in Queens.
